Château de Messilhac
A jewel of French Renaissance architecture overlooking the Goul valley, Messilhac is an authentic, enchanting monument set in a wild, unspoilt environment.
Château de Messilhac is the only intact vestige of Renaissance architecture in the Cantal region. Its sculpted facade and straight Italian staircase are testimony to this.
From the top of its watchtowers, a superb panoramic view over the Goul valley.
Guided tours every day except Saturday.
Tours depart at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm.
In autumn 2009, the château was the location for Bertrand Tavernier's film The Princess of Montpensier.
